JEC 2025 will be a landmark show for James Cropper (Hall 5, Stand N40). Not only is it the first edition since the company changed its name from Technical Fibre Products, but the event also marks the launch of two exciting new product brands for composite applications: SURFACETEC lightweight, functional surfacing veils and EMITEC tuneable conductive nonwovens.

James Cropper set for product launches at JEC 2025

SURFACETEC™ delivers superior composite surface finish with added functionality such as static dissipation, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance. The range of veils, incorporated at the composite surface, are highly porous with consistent fibre distribution and weight, ensuring uniform resin wet out and eliminating dry spots. This minimises the print-through from underlying reinforcements, improving surface quality and reducing the need for further processing.

The new EMITEC™ range is also designed to impart functionality to the composite surface, this time as integral lightweight EMI shielding and electrical conductivity. The conductive nonwovens deliver consistent, tuneable shielding from 100MHz to beyond 40GHz with minimal weight. Easy to handle and integrate, EMITEC™ is ideal for applications such as medical devices, mobile phones, and battery enclosures for AAM and BEV. Incorporated at the composite surface, the veils are resistant to flex fatigue and become part of the structure, eliminating extra manufacturing steps.

Also on display at JEC will be James Cropper’s well-established OPTIVEIL range, which includes ultra-lightweight glass, polyester, and thermoplastic nonwovens optimised for use as carriers or supports for adhesive films and fragile materials. These veils are engineered for compatibility, enabling rapid, even resin or adhesive wet out, resulting in a thin, consistent bond line and improving the resilience and handling of the final product. Key benefits include faster processing times, improved quality, and reduced waste.

James Cropper is setting the standard for improved finish, enhanced fabrication, and superior composite performance across industries such as aerospace, advanced air mobility, wind energy, automotive applications, and sporting goods.
