Carrier Veils

Lightweight and Uniform
Our lightweight nonwovens are used extensively across industry as a carrier or support structure for a fragile material, thus aiding in their processing. The veil's highly porous structure and even fibre distribution ensures that coatings, whether they are adhesive or MOFs, is both rapid and uniform, enabling improved production rates. The thickness of the coated film is determined by the veil. The exceptional uniformity of thickness of our carrier veils ensures that the bond-line is both defined and highly consistent, with veil areal weights as low as 2 g/m² available to ensure that thickness and weight is minimised. The use of James Cropper nonwoven veils as carrier materials increases the quality and consistency of the film, and the nonwoven architecture also improves the resilience and handling of the final product.

Enabling New Adhesive Technologies

Our lightweight glass veils are integral to the successful application of Fibre Metal Laminates, acting as a support and enabling rapid, even wet out of adhesive. They create a thin, uniform bond-line and improve the handling of the final product.
