James Cropper Launches Resillion™ Advanced Coating Technology for PEM Electrolysers

James Cropper has launched a new name for it’s revolutionary coating technology for PEM electrolysers. Resillion™, as the tried and tested technology will now be known, is uniquely engineered to deliver both enhanced component performance and design flexibility.

The proprietary technology leverages over 10 years of research and development by a dedicated team of electrochemists to deliver enhanced conductivity, reduced contact resistance and corrosion protection in titanium components including bi-polar plates, PTL’s, sinters and meshes. The application of Resillion ultimately improves stack performance and efficiency, extending the lifetime of stack components to maximise durability and profitability.

Differing from traditional PVD and Electroplating technology, Resillion offers unique benefits to electrolyser manufacturers, including excellent coating adhesion, the ability to rapidly scale production and, crucially, flexibility to coat components with a wide range of sizes and shapes. A further key advantage of Resillion is the capability to maximise platinum efficiency for complex shapes.

“ Increasingly we are seeing more complex titanium structures in PEM electrolysers. Our Resillion™ technology is ideal for this, distributing platinum evenly across the entire metal surface, including in places that may not be visible to the naked eye. This precision, combined with the performance improvement and absence of size limitations, gives Resillion™ significant advantages over existing coating technologies. ”

Business Development Manager for Coatings and Catalysts

Resillionhas already served markets worldwide with over 250,000 coated parts currently in operation. The advanced coating technology can be easily and rapidly scaled by customers through James Cropper’s Modular Production Unit (MPU), which was launched last year. For more information, James Cropper will present Resillion at the Hydrogen Technology Conference in Hamburg, 23-24th October on stand 1I5 in hall 1A
