SPE-ACCE 2026

Date:
September 9 - 10 2026
Schedule:
Location:
Novi, MI USA
James Cropper Advanced Materials will be exhibiting at SPE ACCE 2026, where we will showcase UNIMAT™, alongside our portfolio of established advanced nonwoven materials designed to address some of the automotive industry's most demanding material and manufacturing challenges.

Performance-Driven Material Solutions

Launched earlier this year, UNIMAT™ is an aligned nonwoven developed using proprietary VECTIS™ fibre alignment technology. Combining recycled carbon fibre feedstocks with highly aligned fibre architecture, UNIMAT™ delivers directional mechanical properties, enhanced formability and improved material efficiency. By enabling the use of recycled and waste carbon fibre without compromising performance, UNIMAT™ demonstrates how sustainability and lightweight vehicle structures can advance together.

Technical Presentation

As part of the SPE ACCE technical programme, Business Development Manager, Taurean Young will present:

Aligned Nonwovens for Automotive Composites: Enabling Performance, Functionality and Sustainability at Scale

The presentation will explore how aligned nonwovens are helping address the increasing demands placed on automotive composites by electrification, lightweighting and sustainability targets.

Focusing on UNIMAT™, the session will examine how highly aligned discontinuous fibre reinforcements can deliver directional mechanical properties, improved electrical continuity, enhanced formability and efficient processing. The presentation will also highlight wider nonwoven applications, including Class A surfaces, corrosion barriers, abrasion resistance, EMI shielding and fire protection for EV battery enclosures, demonstrating how multifunctional materials can help support next-generation vehicle programmes.
